Nick's dad had his gps on and it was ten miles and some change.
7/8 Flock night ride
Did anyone get the total mileage during last night's Flock All Night ride? It felt like about 10 miles. Time, it was just about 90 minutes.
Wonderful ride, perfect weather, nice turnout. It doesn't get much better than this. Thanks to all!
It was exactly 10 miles on my GPS
nick's dad was there? or do you mean todd? i wish i was able to stay longer. what a beautiful night!
I'm tempted to point out we're both in our 30s, grandma.
Ouch
@ stefb yeah you always leave early when you see me on the ride. Must be because of the spandex.
mr marvelous, what were you riding/wearing?
@ boostuv I ride a Trek Portland and I was wearing Trek of Pittsburgh spandex
Stef, it was my dad's first Flock. He was on a dept store "mtb" because he is convinced it better than the 80's Schwinn I rebuilt for him.
Todd, I believe those were nick's words
@ mr. marvelous, ahhhh alright, always nice to put faces to (user)names.
@ boostuv I look just like my avatar just like you look like yours.
mr marvelous: in the red?
I was the blue trek 7.6 with the blue tires, and the clipboard.
I was in the Thick jersey with the red Trek X02
@ robjdic my jersey was white, and I was there with my wife. And it is good to put a face to you.
@salty - I didn't see you on the ride or I would've said hello. @Nick - I didn't know that was your dad, but I asked him if he was enjoying the ride & he nodded. It was nice to see some familiar faces & to meet Mrs Marvelous. Perfect weather.
@mr m. - I thought that she was a girlfriend not a wife, that's why I didn't talk to you for too long, I didn't want to interupt. LOL
pseuda - I didn't actually make it to the ride but apparently my ancient ghostly spirit was (as always) present in Nick's mind.
@ mako82 I've known her for 20 years now, we are definitely past the boyfriend/girlfriend stage. You can always interrupted
I worked with Nick's Dad at Westinghouse maybe 20 years ago. (For that matter, I probably saw Nick at a company picnic in a stroller or some such, circa 1986.) He (Bob) made a brief appearance at the beginning of the June Flock ride, taking pictures.
Pretty sure Nick wasn't around in 1986
Man, I feel old.
You feel old? About 1/4 of the people on this board are younger than my son.
The thing about being 50something and making twice weekly trips into the city is that I sure feel a lot younger and healthier than my physical age. All the more reason to get more people on two wheels.
Yeah, more likely the '88 picnic. There were 75 families there and everyone had a passel of kids. Nick would have been one of several not yet walking or barely so. Sarah and I were too busy running around Kennywood or Idlewild, childless, to pay much attention to everyone's babies. (Enjoy that while it lasts, folks!)
This week is the spare Friday for this month. Anything going on?
I'd possibly be in for a Friday ride.
I would like to ride. I don't believe I have plans.
And I agree with you, stu. I am always surprised to hear people's ages when they tell me, especially the crew at cook forest this weekend
