Advice for posting information on stolen bikes

I noticed a bike that appeared to be unattended today, in a somewhat unusual location. I could not get to it from where I was, so I could not get a really good close look at it, or even verify if there was an owner nearby.

So, I jumped on the board to see if there were any matching bikes that had gone missing. I am pretty confident that there were no matches. But, I did find a number of busted links to photos.

So, basic things like make, color, distinguishing marks should be described in the text, in addition to attaching a photo. In addition to avoiding issues with broken links, it makes it possible to search the board more effectively.

Just my two cents worth.

Again, I found no likely matches. I'll look for the bike again tomorrow. If it is still there, I'll try to get a closer look at it.

Edited to revise title of post.

fwiw, i've seen bunches of my-bike-got-stolen posts on reddit's r/pittsburgh site, too. I've usually directed them here, but I don't get over there much.
