Advice on biking Allegheny river Blvd.

I am familiar with the area where ARB, Washington Bvd & Butler Street come together and it is a bad place to be on a bicycle. However, a cyclist told me there is a bike path of sorts that connects from the cycling track (on Washington Bvd) to the road going up to Highland Park from Butler Street. This path runs along the wooded hillside south of Butler Street. I have seen a piece of this path from my car on the jughandle ramp onto the Highland Park bridge from Butler Street. Perhaps someone who has used this pathe could comment further. Some time when I am over that way, I will check it out myself.

Last week, I biked ARB from Washington Blvd. to Hulton Rd. Somewhere along the shoulder opposite the river between Washington Blvd. and Sandy Creek Rd. , there was broken glass and other debris which can be a hazard to cyclists. I am going to report this to PennDOT.

I think it is more like a hilly mountain bike type path.

I have walked this trail, in the other direction; it is, as @edronline describes, somewhere between a mountain-bike trail and a goat-path...

I do not have a mountain bike. I also got a message that that stretch of A.R Blvd. is up for maintenance and the debris will hopefully be swept away.
