Or maybe it should be Almondo? Monongohalle? Ohiallegemon? I've always wondered where these names come from. A carefully selected committee of stakeholders? A brand management consultancy? Somebody's 4-yr old?

ALlegheny, MONongahela, Ohio. It's not hard to remember.

No it isn't, but the development is on the MONongahela, which flow into the Ohio, and (only) by transitivity connects to the ALlegheny. I mean (my suggestions above notwithstanding) shouldn't it at least be Monoha? [distance ≅ letters]? Well, ok, maybe not. I'm just reacting to the incoherence of the derivation... but maybe that's just me. Well, maybe not maybe. Why not Hazelwood Landing? Though there's no rendering plants to paper over (I think), it still sounds better than its given name. [...] On the whole I would have liked it to be Almondo; it just creates this landscaping theme distinctly more creative than what we usually see around here. (If you wondered, almond trees thrive up to zone 5; and there's plenty of water hereabouts. For that matter, hazelwoods are good up to zone 4...) Also, annual festival.

Almono's website says the development will become four districts, to be called Riverview, Smart Site Central Green, Eco Tech Park, and Hazelwood Flats. So perhaps people won't refer to Almono, but these names. I'm not sure that's exactly an improvement in every case. But they could always rename Smart Site Central Green and Eco Tech Park to something less silly-sounding. I believe XtremeSpace Sustain-o-matic Futurepark XL Special Edition isn't in use.

Nase Park is simple and unobtrusive. (Not A Stupid Expressway)
