I would like to say, thank you thank you thank you. For all the times I've walked those tracks and thought "man it's going to be awesome when that trail is open", the reality is better than my expectation. You know how they engineer "fast" swimming pools to get competitive times? It seems like you used "fast" pavement because my heart is light when I ride through there. I'd also like to say: thanks to Sandcastle for their consideration in allowing the gate to remain open through the winters and weekends, it meant a lot to me to be able to use your property and I really appreciate your flexibility. Keystone, you've been very tolerant of all us funny-dressed folks poking around and thank you for donating extra land so the final product could be so awesome. I promise not to jam up any of your vehicles or people. Jack you should get an honorary doctorate from the Project Management Institute (if you already have one, no disrespect) for making a project work that all the experts said would take another $20 million (american). very nicely done. Linda, now that you're done with this project, and I know you're working on the Smithfield St to Point State Park thing, and then after that I'd like you to pay some attention to the Middle East because I think you could solve that one if you could do these things. My friends and I and the region and in your debt. Thank you very much.

Haven't been there and it will be a while before I get a chance to use it, but I do want to thank all involved in getting that connection done. I have ridden it prior and it looked like it would be VERY hard to accomplish. Great job!

I finally got to ride the new stretch yesterday for the first time. Congratulations and a mighty Thank You for the folks responsible for making this happen. If the crowds I saw yesterday are any indication, we have a cycling explosion going on the South side of the river.

@Marko82 You're back on wheels? Great to hear that! In my video about the eagles, I noticed that there are similar numbers of cars on East Carson and bikes on the trail.

+100, definitely grateful for this. Fam & I have had the opportunity to do this segment a few times and it's been great. Lots of traffic, a far cry from when prior days when you would only see the odd lone roadie/inline skater just training on the Baldwin end. The big sign on Costco welcoming cyclists using the GAP is a good indicator they expect there to be lots of trail users/usage. Thanks to Eat N Park for the well designed racks with the crankarm/pedal cutout. When we stopped there for lunch, all the racks were full, sans one. Shows foresight (hint hint to the other eateries off the trail where I saw folks locking up to the patio fencing).

Was out Sunday. I rode from my house in Squirrel Hill, down Browns Hill and over to Uno, where I discovered that the old trail did not actually connect. I realized my mistake after some wandering and head scratching, but only because I remembered seeing someone talk about it being near costco on here. Did I miss a sign at the terminus of the old trail? I realize it's not officially open, but I was a bit lost for a second. Once I got out on the new part, though, and realized how easy it was to reach from the bridge, I was in heaven. What an unbelievably great ride.

One week until the ribbon cutting. We've been seeing a LOT of people on the trail out there since this section was finished. Still appreciating the heck out of the fact that we don't have to walk on that ballast anymore! BTW - we rode out to try the Blue Bonnet Bakery in Homestead at Linda Boxx's recommendation and it was a great find. Nice destination for a ride through the new section (if anyone needs an excuse!).
