Aug 14th Soft and Fluffy 7 Springs Mtn Bike Ride carpool

Let the carpool talk begin. A lot of us dont even own cars, so now is the time to hit up your friends for favors or just enlist their help. JB and I live over in the west end of town, but figure that we can meet folks somewhere more central within town. If you can help out please email me.

Yinzer in for a treat if it is anything like my last trail ride experience. I was a bit sore this morning and after a couple days will be ready to do it again. I am a novice mountain biker. My friend JB who suggested this event is way beyond that so there will be room for all skill levels in between.

This is not meant as a beginner ride, but if you have taken your 'cross bike on single track you could probably hang. This is a long course so I plan on renting a bike with suspension so I don't jar my head off.

"if you have taken your 'cross bike on single track"

Yes!

What is the event? Seven Springs is not an easy place to ride. It has big elevation changes and lots of rocks.

cross bike on the 24 hour loop? bring some extra wheels.

Yeah, good luck with that. The 24hr loop up there is no joke. Doing it once during the day is hard—doing it 4+ times on a team is brutal.

Still trying to decide if this is my year for a return from 24hr racing retirement.

Sorry for the confusion, but I meant that if you are crazy enough to ride singletrack on a 'cross bike then you should go on this ride - what I did not mean to imply is that you should ride a 'cross bike on the trail. I am renting or borrowing FS mtn bike and will hopefully wear really cool body armor - just because. And no, this is the trail loop not the downhill course.

Yes, I have ridden my cross bike on singletrack. I am still new to mtn biking.

The event is listed on the BikeFest Calendar for August 14th. Down side is that we would most likely miss the Batman ride. And that does sound pretty effin' cool.

Bump. So far there are four of us. We will all ride geared bikes. I might even tape foam pads to myself, and try to make it back for the Batman ride. Can't say for sure.

Soft and fluffy?

Sorry for the delay in responding. I figured people would actually read the description and know that a 24-hour endurance course might not be all that soft and fluffy. Apart from that it does spark some conversation.

Pretty small group so far. The pool tour and batman rides do sound pretty effin' cool.

This is wrapped up. There are 3 people meeting up for this now. I myself am not going to be able to make it now, since i have been out sick since Monday. Way too many things happening at work to keep missing out.

@ P-Rob Down side is that we would most likely miss the Batman ride.

I'm sure that wearing a batman cape would really add to this ride, in any case
