Flock of Batmans?
I love the idea of this crazieness with hundreds of batmans on bikes, capes flying, all over downtown
for some reason this makes me really happy. of course, it's not going to effect bike commuters too much downtown.
anyway, this is during bikefest. i wanted to post this to get all of you creative minds thinking about some fun things we can do.
Batman themed ride to the set?
Anyone making a Batcycle?
I feel like batman would ride that recumbent that was at the try-a-bike jamboree

Great idea! I vote batman themed ride. If no one wants to organize it, I will!
ha no way! this would be awesome. esp if we all had recumbents AND tall bikes, but no "normal" bikes.
i will dress as catwoman
consider the ride planned then
I'm pretty sure my kids dream of riding around the city dressed as Batman.
FLOCK OF BATMANS - HECK YEAH!!!!!!!!
nanananananananannana BAT-MAN!!!!!!!
also, there might be a way to incorporate this, but the original riddler, Frank Gorshin, is a Lawrenceville native.

I dream of this mural in lawrenceville one day
Ok, so..... I work downtown, and at the office we got a memo about the Batman movie filming. The best part about the memo was this:
".....Our scenes include daytime exterior dialogue with precision driving and special effects...."
"....Our special effects include but are not limited to gunfire, sparks, squib hits, smoke, debris, air mortars, and controlled pyrotechnic blasts...."
sigh!!!!!
As luck would have it, this image exists:
superman is such a jerk.
Oh Robin ... such a doormat.
Do you think the penguin rode a tall bike or a unicycle?
probably a penny farthling
This sounds so fun!
Depending on how long of a ride, here are a few thoughts on pit stops along the way, outside of downtown:
-Wikipedia says Gorshin is buried in Calvary Cemetery
-The stretch of Melwood + Gold Way that connects N Oakland to Polish Hill feels an awful lot like a bat cave (& some people have nicknamed it "the Bat Cave")
@Pseudacris: I soooo agree! I used to live in Polish Hill on Brereton St, and I actually -did- call the bat-road to my bat-cave!
Capes would look good on Dobson.
Ok I cam plan a route later after work. So excited
MonkeyLectric says they have dealers of their video pro spoke lights that rent. Batman themed spoke lights: Le Cool?
Hmmm...perhaps a trailer-mounted Bat Signal?
should we hold a Batcat saturday night?
^^Everyone needs to dress as either Batman or Catwoman
ok, so the only thing i ever actually made it to was the bike board meet up, but I REALLY wanna do this. i've planned on doing so many rides but never make it
I really like the idea of having as many "not-normal" bikes as possible.
My whole work building is surrounded by road closures, I wonder if we'll get some days off !?!?
Bump. This is today. Come even if you don't have a costume. Cut up a garbage bag for a cape. Make a mask out of duct tape! This is the first ride I am leading. And If it rains, I am still doing it, unless it is thunder storming.
Weather is not looking good. Stef, if it starts to thunderstorm would you consider rescheduling for next weekend?

I'm usually optimistic about the weather, but Lena just called me from the airport and she said it looks really ominous out that way.
Okay, I'm in Robinson, and we just had a little wave of rain, but no winds or lightning. It doesn't seem terrible yet. If the shiite hits the fan I will throw up a note right away. Whatever hits here will be in town in about 10.
It sprinkled lightly on us around 630 but it was fine. We were shooed away by cops downtown and by a guy at the sound stage. We did get to see a few tumblers and an armored truck go by. Thanks to marko for the capes and thanks to the couple with the kids on tag-alongs. Their costumes were cute! I hope people had a nice time and thanks to everyone for coming!
Nanananananana.....
i had an elaborate plan for my bike, but lo, didn't get it together... sorry.
.....Batride!
and a few more in the BikePgh Flickr Pool...
awesome. i should have gone but had enough of rain today driving back to pgh. you guys are teh adorablesx0r
thanks for the idea for the ride, erok!
This was so much fun! Riding with a cape felt like flying. We even got a lot of friendly honks of encouragement from cars (as opposed to "get out of the way" honks of anger). Thanks for planning it, it was a great Sunday evening!
