P1 etc? Pretty often (I haven't been counting lately so I don't have a better estimate than "more than 50%, less than 100%". I ride them to work and I'm not tempted to bring my other bike instead of the folder yet.)

About half the current articulateds ("bendy") have racks. Hopefully that will get better soon, as they've taken a bunch of old buses out of service, and retrofitted older existing buses with their racks.

I've told them they need to get the artics done before anything else, but (a) truly broken buses get priority (b) I don't know if the message got through (c) otherwise it's dependent on time.

Nearly all of Ross Div's 40-footers have racks, and while that won't help you on the P1, it's safe to say you'll (almost) never see a rack-less 54C/D, 67, 1, or anything else that runs north.

The entire fleet is somewhere around 70-80 percent complete with racks. All new buses coming online have racks so it's getting better all the time. By the end of July the fleet should be very close to 100 percent.

thanks everyone!

i'm looking into this for a rainy day/ slept in to long commute. i can't believe you can get to east liberty on the busway in ten minutes!

they run every four mintues supposedly, so it sounds like chances are i can get a bus while only having to wait 12 minutes... does that seem about right sprite?

Yep the east busway is crazy fast.

The schedules are relatively accurate for frequency but sometimes they clump up a p1 and p2 trailing it .... like any route, take with a grain of salt.

The busway routes are inconsistant with the racks. I have forgotten about using them but if you're only going as far as EL you will have more opportunities than I do. If they ever get to 100% on the busway I will use PAT a lot more in the bad weather.

I had a conversation yesterday with another transit activist who wondered how often a third cyclist wanted to get on when there were already two bikes on the rack. I said it hadn't yet happened to me, but I'd check on it. So if/when this happens, please let me know, as there is no way to track it.

It's happened to me om the 48 a few times. Once I waited for a bus, and it had both spots filled, and I had to wait. Another time, I was already on the bus, then someone took the second rack, then at a later stop, the driver had to reject a third passenger with a bike.
