Fenders are on my christmas list. How do i know if the serfas would fit?

swalfoort
2012-11-29 02:04:46

@swalfoort, I can get a picture tomorrow when I go home. They are pretty wide and I think would fit most hybrid/commuter bikes

Thanks, Nick!

BTW, I had to stop and think for a minute after reading your response. I wasn't quite sure what "tomorrow" meant for you. So I had to look at the time tag for your post, and see that you posted at about midnight, so at that point there was reason to believe that tomorrow would mean sometime after the next dawn.

But, while most of us have sleep schedules that coincide with solar/lunar cycles, yours is a bit off. So, tomorrow to you could simply be "sometime after I next sleep." Which could be several lunar cycles away!

For all this bluster about "tomorrow" there's no urgency in my getting the photo. Send it when you can.

I need the pants, am short so I'm sure length is fine, but argh!!! Waist is a bit too big for the pants, I think, unless it's stretchy enough you think to fudge 34"?

2012-12-12 01:26:18

Nick, I'll take those 38cn bars

Interested in the rack, possibly the Panaracer Crosstowns, too. PM sent.

@byogman I think 34" would push it. I usually wear 32" pants and though I could wear these, I opted for a pair of mediums.

@boostuv They are yours.

@J Z I didn't get a PM.

MORE STUFF!

Briko Drop Rain Shell - M - $15

The Drop jacket from Briko offers lightweight protection from wind and rain. It is made from Briko's Dropshell waterproof nylon and has taped seams to add to the weatherproofing. The rear pocket has a two way zipper so that the jacket can be stuffed into it when the weather improves. A hood is folded into the collar and the cuffs have thumb loops to keep the sleeves down and/or inside gloves. An elastic waist band keeps it in place.

I bought this a few years ago, wore it once and bought something smaller. (As you may have noticed, I often just keep stuff I don't need instead of returning it)

I live in Oakland. The rain pants are here at 201 N Braddock. It's a big industrial building by the EE food coop.

have cash now. upon further reflection, the fenders probably wouldn't work for me, but I'll take the jacket.

epanastrophe
2012-12-12 19:54:20

I'll take the fenders. Almost certain I can make them fit on my bike.

@buffalo, why do you think they won't work on your bike? Asking because I might have a different set that I can let you have.

swalfoort
2012-12-12 20:13:21

Swalfoort, Let me know when you want to get them. They are at my apartment in Oakland, or I can bring them to work with me.

@buffalo buffalo, I think it's been called for. I'll let you know

i maybe interested in the rack. Will it work on a furley?

stefb
2012-12-13 10:22:10

@swalfoort, the very small spaces between tires, brakes and frame make me think full fenders would be very difficult if not impossible. I think I could make a clip-on rear fender work, but not sure about front.

i'm also not particularly experienced with bike technics, so i'm more than willing to have someone take a look at the bike---I should be at Flock tomorrow--and tell me it should in fact work.

epanastrophe
2012-12-13 17:12:32

stef, i suspect that rack (and pretty much any other standard rear rack) would work fine on the furley
