Bikefest Casual Friday MTB Ride!

I took a little time off hosting the ride last month but its back for BIKEFEST! Please note that we are going to go back to a much more beginner focused and friendly ride for at least the next two weeks.
Casual group mountain bike ride. No-drop, all skill levels, relaxed wind-down for the week. Riding with all skill levels is a great way to learn new skills or take it easy and work on perfecting existing ones. Meet us at the Tennis Court Lot (corner of S Braddock & Biddle) by 6:30. Food and drinks after at D's. If it rains we will move to the Wheel Mill.

i'm skipping my father in law's birthday cookout to lead the ride (they didn't plan it until well after the ride was announced - this is a habitual thing)

What a great turnout tonight! We had enough people show up that we broke the ride up into 3 groups (expert, intermediate, beginner) and everyone got to ride something fun and challenging for their skill level.
I hope the weather is as perfect next Friday for the second ride!

Fun ride.
I slipped the rear tire crossing the river to 276, and smashed my shin on the rocks on the bank. Ouch. And proceeded to eat it twice more on really simple obstacles shortly thereafter, I think my mind was lost after that initial crash.
I should really go back to beginner's group with Collin.

Agreed 1000%, it was incredibly fun - but I assume the rain we got tonight does not bode well for this ride (at least outdoors)?

you assume right! we are going to go to The Wheel Mill instead. they are having an indoor bmx jam tonight so there will be BBQ and some awesome riding on the big jumps to watch. The MTB rooms will be pretty empty though so plenty of beginner friendly riding still.
