Bikepool from the north?

Hi All! I am new to this site, so I apologize if there is already a thread to this. But I love to commute from Ross Twp, but would love to join a bikepool if one exists, or possibly even create one! :) Any information is helpful!

Stu is in McCandless and someone in Bellevue.

Tomorrow, I have a 7:00 a.m. meeting in town, so will be busing the bike in. If you want to ride in with me, you would have to get up incredibly early, tires on pavement something like 6:00. Where in Ross Twp are you? I'm near the corner of Perry Hwy and Perrymont Rd (just south of CCAC North), and have my choice of coming in via Perry Hwy into West View, or down Babcock Blvd. I've taken McKnight a few times, too, but I don't recommend it for first-timers. If tomorrow doesn't work, I'm quite willing to ride in with you a different day. I bike into town from Perrymont Rd 3x or more a week.

Hi! Im right off of Connie drive. I usually go up that curvy hill to get onto Perrysville then head in via perrysville/Federal to the north shore and putz my way through downtown and into oakland on the Jail Trail. I typically aim to be out the door by 6:00. I have two kids under two, one of which doesn't sleep (seemingly) at all. So it's been hit or miss for me lately in terms of whether or not I bike in later or at all. If I need sleep I hitch a ride in with the husband and kids. :) Anyway, I'm game all of next week. Please feel free to email (cow8@pitt.edu) and I'd love to join! I have a friend who is going to begin commuting via bike from that park and ride lot by the HOV lanes, we'd have a nice little group. :)

I think we talked on the board a year or so ago. IIRC you're over in that Jack's Run part of Ross, near York Circle? Sure, let's try to ride in sometime. My "Plan C" (after failing Plans A and B) is to bike to the O1 Ross Flyer at the Perry park & ride, but just as often I end up riding the whole way in on Perrysville. Tomorrow isn't going to work; I really need to arrive precisely at 7, so wouldn't have any wiggle room. I'm much more flexible just about any day of the week. It'd sure be nice to have a few more northerly bike commuters. Compared to all the people who bike from the East End, I feel like I'm about the only one from up my way.

You are correct, as soon as you replied I remembered you! I had just started commuting and riding again when I found out I was pregnant again and kind of abandoned the idea of road riding in unfamiliar territory. haha. I'm located more towards the Connie/Perrysville intersection. I'm on Sally Ann, right at the bottom of that curvy hill. I have to admit I do have some jealousy towards the east end bikers, they have a solid crowd! Just shoot me an email the day before you want to ride. I can almost always fit it in schedule wise. It will give me the motivation to force myself out of bed even after the most sleepless of nights. :)
