book list thread

I know there are a couple threads that have some great books recommended, but I can't really find what I'm looking for right now. I thought I'd start a new one dedicated bike and infrastructure books.

Post your recommendations here! Thanks.

also, I'm specifically looking for a book that is about how parking lots cause cities to die- anyone know what the title is?

Don't know that book, at least not off the top of my head, but if you are going to start a book list about bikes, infrastructure and transportation (my add, on the last one), the first book I would recommend would be Traffic.

thanks S, I just looked it up and requested it from the library.

I believe the other book I was thinkg of might be The High Cost of Free Parking.

you should just take a look at Erok's Goodreads Profile

When the Big Idea re-opens, we will have a section of books curated by Bike PGH, so there will be a good bit cool stuff there!

RF - I thought I saw you at their party! That's my new favorite book store in the city, I'm really sad I didn't even know it existed until recently. Very dangerous places, book stores are, at least for written word junkies.

I didn't know you were there! Yeah, I'm a member-owner (food coordinator and personnel coordinator). That night I was just a server though

Since I know both of you on sight, I'll introduce you if you're both in the same spot. Problem is, I myself will have my face in a book and may not notice.
