Braddock, south face appoaches

I've been enjoying the Sunday morning Dirty Dozen excursions. Saturday's an off day, so I'm penciling in a tour of various Braddock ascents. They aren't quite Dirty Dozen caliber, but there's some respectable stuff there. Here's a plan: meet up at Biddle's Escape, have a cup of coffee, and start off at 9 am on this route http://ridewithgps.com/routes/5892921 Gritty and urban, true, but it's supposed to be nice weather, and there will be some good views. Interest?

I ride around there all the time. Put in Columbia in swissvale for sure. Main in n Braddock could be interesting but I've never tried it. Jones is a steady but nice long climb.

I got no takers but everybody who showed up had a good time! Columbia is the steep one. Fourth Ave up from Braddock through the cemetery (Alpe D'Huez) is a nice scenic ascent. I think, now, that the route should drop back all the way down and do Jones to Locust completely. In any case, the real kicker there is the last bit up to the Grandview Country Club, steep and short. But, views! Main is really not all that much. The approach to it, underneath the highway across the tracks, is most interesting part. The descents, Wilkins, Ravine, are decent climbs too, but they are both curvy and now repaved, so they are too nice downhill to pass up.
