Brashear Trail

Back in October I tried taking Brashear Trail only to discover it was completely overgrown with chest-high grasses I could barely pull my bike through. After trudging through about 200 m I reached the top of the hill where I could see that the whole trail was overgrown, so I abandoned it in favor of Watkins Rd Trail. On a related note, the bridge over the Sawmill Run creek appears to be long gone, although the creek was reasonably fordable. Watkins Rd Trail is also somewhat overgrown, but much more navigable than Brashear. Does anyone know what's up with these trails? Have they just been abandoned?

Check this thread from 2009. http://localhost/message-board/topic/west-end-and-seldom-seen-bike-trails/ I explored Seldom Seen Greenway some a few years ago. The access points that I recall are:
  • NW corner of Brashear High School lot
  • Sawmill Run Blvd opposite Woodruff St
  • somewhere on Shadycrest Rd (maybe at Shadyview Pl?) trail leads west and then north traversing hillside above I376, connects with the trails that are marked in Google Maps.

The first two access points you mentioned are indeed the ones I used.
somewhere on Shadycrest Rd (maybe at Shadyview Pl?) trail leads west and then north traversing hillside above I376, connects with the trails that are marked in Google Maps.
There's a trail that wraps around that whole neighborhood? I didn't traverse the whole length of it, but the only bridge I saw over Sawmill Run creek was the railroad tracks. I'm guessing this trail (if it still exists) would also require fording the creek. Also, I only just realized the Wabash tunnel idea goes back at least eight years. Kind of disheartening. I requested Brashear trail be removed from Google Maps back when I failed to traverse it, but it seems my request wasn't accepted.
