It is really sad how silly expensive Santa Cruz is. I'd move there in a second, especially given that I could move without changing jobs, but we could barely afford a double-wide....
California Trip (photos)
Took a ride along 17 mile drive from Monterey to Pebble Beach. There is a bike trail, then a narrow bike lane, and then just a narrow road but drivers were incredibly polite.
This bike trail runs through a state park and connects to Monterey and 17 mile drive.
Part of the same trail network as the two photos above.
Bike storage in Santa Cruz
Very cool. Did you rent the bike out there or bring it along?
Those storage units are great.
I rented the bike. What little I saw of Santa Cruz I loved.
My boss (who lives in SC) said he can do 20-30 mile MTB loops with minimal pavement and/or bike paths out his front door. That is crazy.
Would you say that SC is more bike friendly than Pittsburgh
I can't tell if you're joking or not.
Any time we went to CA for a family vacation we made sure to drive 17 Mile Drive. It one of my favorite places, but now I think I have to ride it.
It's a different experience for sure. We ended up driving it on our way to Big Sur because my wife was working while I was having fun on the bike ride.
