Can you donate 2 hours on Wednesday June 5th?
I am looking to do something new this summer as part of our regional bike count program.
If I can get 15 volunteers to commit to doing a 2 hour bike count ON THE SAME morning, we can complete our first ever "cordon survey" of bike commuters into downtown Pittsburgh. That means that we will count every bicyclist entering downtown by bicycle.
We've never tried this before. Can you help us with this exciting new bike count strategy by donating your time from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. on the morning of June 5th?
I'll assign you a downtown or very near to downtown count location, and provide you with basic instruction, as well as a counting form for your use. You'll provide the basic labor, and be responsible for faxing, emailing or otherwise transmitting your data to me.
Many of your have done bike counts in the past. Most of you have reported that this it is easy and fun.
If you can't help that particular day, I understand. We will be doing more counts later in the month, and perhaps you can help then.

@Boostuv - it's a deal! I plan to position someone under the bridge in Point State Park (to get the riders using the Ft. Duquesne and Ft. Pitt ped bridges, as well as at the downtown end of the Sixth Street/Roberto Clemente Bridge.
You get dibs on whichever location you prefer!

I could help out under the Point State Park Bridge- I have a meeting on the north shore at 9:30, so that would give me plenty of time to get there and change clothes. I could stay until 9:00.

Even at this late date, I do not know if I can help for tomorrow. Is there a spot that you can point to and say "Boy it'd be nice if we can cover that spot but no biggie if we can't" that you don't have coverage for? Let me know by about 9pm and if I can, I'll be there.
