The ramp from the Veterans bridge outbound onto route 28 is closed for the next month+. They are redirecting traffic up 279 to the next exit then turn them back toward town on East street to get to 28. Ahh, barrel season...

Changing traffic patterns on the North Side?
Past few mornings and evenings (rush, blech), I've noticed cops at corners on East St and Madison Ave screwing with the lights and outright directing traffic. I'm wondering if anybody here knows why?
In general I've found that has two effects: traffic that was timed or sensor driven is complicated, slowed, and frustrated, and people run fewer lights. But I've only encountered it when they're doing a massive change to the light timing system or when some huge event takes over (like the PGA tour in Oakmont).
But here, I see no projects, and I know of no events.
What's up with the north side? Is this a stealth, uniformed bike count?

Ah, thanks Marko. I knew they closed stuff farther down on various highways, I just didn't realize the extent of the detour. I thought maybe the construction site on Madison was super fancy special and caused closed roads when I wasn't looking or something.

yeah, driving yesterday I was sitting in traffic long enough that I had to give directions to two different drivers headed in two opposite directions, neither of which should have been where they were, both horribly lost (one woman was an entire county in the wrong direction). I don't know what detours got them there, so I'm afraid I may have sent them in a maddening circle.
For some reason, I drive past those signs every day, and they never struck me as totally absurd until you posted the photo.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a cyclist in that picturea, and another one in the picture about farmers markets. Either the PG is trying to place cyclists in photos, or there are so many around they can't keep them out.
