Trying to rally people to call into two interview shows next week focused on transportation. Summary of talking points below. It is important to show support for a comprehensive transportation funding solution that accounts for all modes of transportation including walking and biking. There will be plenty of opposition. 1) TUESDAY MARCH 19th at 7PM - Sens. Rafferty and Wozniak on PCN call-in show. 2) FRIDAY MARCH 22nd at 2PM - Sec. of Transportation on KDKA radio call-in show. Some talking points: 1. Make sure bike/ped projects are competitive and sufficiently funded in new multimodal fund being talked about by Secretary Schoch and the Governor. 2. Given that 12% of all trips in PA are by foot and by bike and account for 11% of the fatalities and zero percent of state hwy safety funding, it's time that a bike/ped office is set up at the state level to oversee bike/ped projects and policies.
