crush the commonwealth: just logistics!

Here we go again, my foot is swollen and I can't stop coughing but a week is a long time right?

Who needs places to stay in Philadelphia and who needs or has transportation back. I'm thinking of heading back on May 11th. Anyone want to go in on a rental car?

Pick up some CoQ10. My brother is alwasy hurting his ankles, he takes this stuff hen it happens, cuts recovery time in half.

Co-Enzyme Q10.

Co-op or whole foods should have it.

Gotta get you healthy to get you beat back down.

Ted, right now my plan is to jump on the first greyhound bus back to Pittsburgh after finishing. There's a 12:20 AM bus on Monday that looked reasonable. If you're looking to get a group together to rent a car back to Pittsburgh, I would gladly chip in. At 24 years and three months, I'm actually not eligible to rent a car!

yes you are bill. you just have to shop around and may have slightly higher rates. i rented a car (convertable PT cruiser) when i was in las vegas/ california for spring break with my roommates two years ago at 21.

I personally would rather take the bus than a convertible PT cruiser!!!

Seriously though, those things are like 8 cylinders and get like 12 mpg

actually it was a surprisingly fun car. since it was a great joke for 3 21 year old dudes. and we took it offroading in joshua tree national park (the 10 dollar a day insurance is worth it). it got around 26 mpg if i remember correctly.

PT cruisers are pretty cool. i always rent them while on business trips and i like the visibility and the high seating position as my normal car is a sports car/two seater. as a fact, they are built on the same chassis/platform as a Dodge Neon. they have a small 4 cyl in them.

yes, they are inconspicuous for doing "dirty deeds" and nobody pays attention to you!

Go for the "PT Crusher"

Umm...getting back to CTC. So I should rent a PT Cruiser instead of taking the bus back to Pittsburgh?

There are a lot or companies that will rent to 21yos some even to 18 year olds, but I have seen "under 25" fees from $10 extra / day to $45.

Always buy the insurance.

The PT Crusier is based off the same platform as the Neon, 4 cyl, FWD, rear torsion beam. Both the neon and the cruiser were notorious for the worst safety rating for years. I would much rater rent a Versa or something.

I've rented a PT Cruiser for a week vacation. It had 300 miles on it when I got it, so it was brand new.

I loved how it looked, and the interior is great. OTOH, it felt unsafe and unstable (which, same may argue, would make it the perfect car for me.).

I also rented a Chevy HHR. I do not like the way the HHR looks at all. (30's retro? I like 50's retro less so.) In terms of how the HHR drove and how the layout of the controls were, though, it was way superior to the Cruiser.

i've also rented a uhaul (everything from a trailer to a van to the largest truck they have) at 21 and under. a uhaul one way van might be a good way to cram as many bikes in as possible.

one way rentals are really kinda expensive. I think that it cost me maybe 120 or so the one time that I did it, so maybe you could get 3 or 4 people together to split a van.

Wish that I could make it out there this year, but it's not in the cards..

avis rents from downtown philly to downtown pgh; no need to get to the airport lots where most companies rent from.

uhaul only rents cargo vans for local trips. one way trips use small box trucks and larger which won't be terrible if you got the numbers to split the cost and rent a car too for passengers.

i think budget, penske, etc have similar policies. we're splitting a small suv 3 ways to get to the start this year. $140 i think plus gas and tolls.
