Having driven big dumps in the army reserve, the sightlines are prety awful from the driver's seat of these things. I'm not sure what happened or who's at fault, I just wanted to mention how awful these things are to drive. BTW, the training is pretty poor too.

Sounds like the operator was positioning the truck to block an intersection when the incident occurred. I guess she got broadsided from the truck?
And yeah, that devolution in the washington post article to a traffic report is effed up...
