Cyclist vs. Pedestrian

A 70 year old man was reportedly knocked unconscious and taken to Presby after being struck by an outbound cyclist along Liberty Avenue during the Columbus Day Parade in Bloomfield. http://www.wpxi.com/news/news/cyclist-hits-man-distributing-flowers-leaflets-col/nbMdq/ Unfortunately, my initial impression is that the cyclist was riding irresponsibly given the crowded conditions that a parade brings. Everyone needs to be aware of their surroundings, and travel accordingly. "Share the Road" applies to more than just motor vehicle encounters!

This story is sad. What kind of idiot rides straight into a parade? Hope the guy is ok.
