Cyclists will rule the world....

I have been amassing an army of cyclists on the Northside. We continue to equip them with bikes and are teaching them how to maintain those sweet coaster brake single speed demons. We have a chance to grab $500 in funding from PNC if yinz would go "Like" PNC Bank and vote for the project on this page: http://pncneighborhoodwishlist.com/project/8 All these kids are future BikePGH members. Based on the discussion with others we are also working toward something like a FreeRide on the Northside, building trails, and even a pump track. It's help like this that keeps us going. Thanks for voting/sharing the link.

Bump. We have 3 more days left to get about 165 votes... I figured folks spend so much time online that a few minutes voting for the project wouldn't take away too much time from other message board activities. Thanks for your support!!

Unfortunately, it's tied into facebook and a few of us are hold-outs. Although, my excuse is slightly different... I block facebook access to any third party site that I'm on and this prevents me from participating.

Yeah, I can understand that. It is also tied to a marketing strategy for PNC using social media - which nowadays could be considered selling out to The Man. I'm a whore for funding these days though. I tucked the pride away in the belief that there is something greater out there protecting me from selling out entirely.

Only 99 votes to go if anyone else would care to jump in. Was up in Northview Heights last night. I think we have saturated Central Northside and can switch over to repair training and bike rodeos there - which is what was always intended. We will distribute up in the NVH while looking into potential trails and a pump track - there is so much real estate up 'ere.
