i'm not in this scene at all, but why hasn't cyclocross taken off more here? i know we're a few years behind everywhere, but serious, this seems like it would be a great city for it
Cyclocross race in Murrysville
For whatever reason there's virtually no racing here at all. It's not just 'cross.
because nobody from this board is registered sans myself and chris? maybe im wrong.
I just registered today!
yeah, real wrong...mayhew isn't registered!!!
and he should register for the A's instead of beating up on us cat-4 road folk in the B's.
beyond that they need two more ladies to register for the race to hold the womens field. I mean for real, there were at least 3 smallish like 50/52cm cross-checks on craig street when I went to lunch, which either means oakland has a lot of short men, or a lot of women on cross bikes.
Whatever, Shelmire. I'm gonna kick your butt on a 50cm bike. So there.
Only 1 week to go!
I'm especially psyched about this after racing cyclocross today in the snow and mountains of WV, which is sort of strange after just getting back to pgh yesterday from 75 degrees and sunny in Texas.
And as steevo has already said at http://thesteevo.blogspot.com/2008/11/at-war.html
sign up, come race, get dirty, watch mayhew beat up on me, the fu folks become happy and we get more races that aren't like 6 hours away
And maybe we'll get some conditions like this.
Congrats brian! I would have come earlier, but when I got up and it was raining, I had little desire to stand for 5 hours in the rain. I hope you got bitten by the bug.
Thanks! I feel like a sandbagger, though--I should have been getting my arse kicked with everyone else in the B race.
I have been bitten, too. That was good fun. Now we just need more local races (who wants to help me organize another one next fall?).
Anybody have images of the C race? Anyone? Anyone?
I'm convinced this is all part of the massive conspiracy to hide the fact that the C race occurred.
Congrats to you and Steevo for winning!
