Donating a car to Bike PGH?

I have an old car that is proving very difficult to sell and I was considering donating it to a charity such as NPR, from where I got the idea... however I don't really listen to NPR anymore, so why not Bike PGH? Is there a way to do this, do you guys know of a legit 3rd-party organization that handles such things?

What kind of car is it? I have a little experience selling cars ;D...

Lolly - you probably would only get scrap value for it, but it's better than nothing that's for sure.

Nick - a Volvo 240. It's definitely seen better day and I just don't want to put any more money into it.

Noah, I think I've seen your car over in Highland Park...gray with all the bumper stickers on back, broken windshield. 240 parts sell well on Ebay, etc. If you can part it out might be worth some cash in your pocket. Interior parts, lights, etc. everything goes.

That's my car, I've been dragging my feet big time trying to get it sold even as a parts car... what a friggin headache. Got a ticket cause I forgot to move it yesterday for the street sweeper.

Haha, I tried that and they just told me "fix it up! you'll get another 400,000 miles out of it, EASY"... guess i'll give it another shot.

The people that love those cars, REALLY love those cars.

Just curious, what are you looking to get for it? What known problems does it have?

Mine is close to 300,000 and still going.

Mine was, at my estimate, 300,000 - the odometer broke at 160,000 in 1996 (the car is an 86). I'm sure it'd keep going but I'm just a little exhausted continually putting money into it, fixing it several times a year, etc. I rarely drive it anyway, and I've been wanting something with better gas mileage anyway. Doesn't mean I'm not torn up about it though. Donating it to Bike PGH would be one of the few things that'd make me feel less rotten about giving up on it.
