HAH, I JUST took my studs last week off my mountain bike thinking I was being lazy doing so.
at the blessing of the bikes today, i prayed super hard to the weather gods that the snow will just miss pittsburgh. then again, maybe having the holy water frozen to my new ride for a few days would be good for it.
Ugh I don't want to ride all the way to Squirrel Hill with the studs on just for there to be no snow.
I refuse to believe there will be very much snow, and it doesn't look like it will get below freezing. (to be fair, I stuck with [wider than I normally ride] slicks through the winter) It does look like it will be wet and cold, but I don't think that we will actually get snow sticking on the ground or ice. Gross, yes, stud worthy, no? I don't know a lot?
Weather to come is now saying "No significant accumulations of snow", and there is no longer a warning posted.
Damn it, I was hoping to qualify for Rule #9 today.
FWIW, I ended up coming in by motorcycle, in full rain gear. I stayed dry, but my hands froze despite gloves, and I had trouble seeing, both from rain on the outside and fog on the inside.
Bus, bike or vroom, there is just no nice way to deal with a 37-degree rain.
As I said to another cyclist on the jail trail this morning, the only weather I dislike worse than 37 and rain is 32 and rain.
His reply was "It's not that bad."
True.
it's this gusty, unpredictable wind i can't stand.
