There is a big difference between -35C and -52C. At -52C even slates would not skate and gasoline looks like a jelo. :)

Mikhail's post reminded me of Jack London's "To Build a Fire", describing how at a certain temperature, spit would not only freeze before hitting the snow, but freeze and crack. But I think he's just trying to get us to HTFU about riding the icy trails this winter.

Interesting fact: -40C = -40F.
