I'm pretty sure 311 is on a 9-5 schedule. Without much in the way of evidence one way or the other, I tend mostly to use the website form rather than calling--I usually get put on hold for a long time.

Freaky Drain Grate in Bloomfield
At the corner of Main & Howley, where the Shur Save is, where you'd go if you're heading from Liberty towards Friendship, is a real freaky one. It's a drain grate that has somehow broken up/collapsed, leaving not only a huge gaping hole into the sewer the likes of which I've only seen in the west indies, but also a bunch of rusty skewers waiting to impale the next unaware cyclist. I called 311 as soon as I got home but, 311 is closed for the day (WTF?) So... WATCH OUT.

I try to avoid this intersection, not only because of that but because the road is terrible in general. If it gets any worse I will start riding through it again, once it becomes one big pothole it won't be bad.

Yes the whole interchange is wretched. Turning left from Liberty is always hair-raising in traffic, with all of those little potholes just waiting to throw you off into the path of a 77 bus. But I can't think of a better alternative... Staying on Liberty thru Bloomfield?

take liberty for a couple blocks then make the left over to friendship. if you do it at a light its not too bad.

No I know that's possible... it's just that it's miserable to ride thru that part of Liberty. Parked cars, broken pavement, heavy traffic... yuck
