Free Ride Drop In Classes

I'm going to do the earn a bike program at freeride and I'm planning on going to the drop in class tonight, but I'm not sure what time to get there to make sure that I am able to get in the class. The website says to show up a few minutes before the class is supposed to start, but the first 10 people will be able to take the class. My question is, do the classes usually fill up and if so how early should I get there to make sure I get in the class?

I've been at the meetings where they discuss the drop in classes. I've taken two drop in clases myself.

My impression is that being closed out is very rare. (maybe even a totally theoretical possibility.)

If you show up early -or even on time - you might have to wait outside for F.R. staff with a key to arrive. That happens maybe 1/3 of the time when I volunteer there.

I could be wrong, though. You might want to arrive 5 or 10 mintues early and have a book or a harmonica to amuse yourself with.

Yeah, Mick's advice sounds consistent with my experiences there. It's a pretty laidback place. One of the two classes I've attended might have had close to ten people, but lots of them showed up at least a little bit late. I think the other class I attended had two "students" and maybe a third who showed up really late. Maybe it's busier in the spring, so it can't hurt to show up a teeny bit early tonight if you don't mind the possibility of waiting for the shop to open up, but I wouldn't worry too much about classes actually filling up.
