Going to Portland--bike resources?

Hey friends!

I am going to portland for a conference in November... yay! First time there, can't wait.

I won't have too much free time, but I want to borrow a bike while I there. Are there bike-shares/free bikes? Or can I grab one from a friend of a friend?

I know I can probably find out all that via the internet, but I figured I'd ask the PGH locals first.

Thanks!

I was in Portland about five years ago without a bike, and sorely wished I had one. That is one bike friendly town. Coming in from the airport on the light rail (a great way to get into town by the way) people just got right on with their bikes and no one gave it a 2nd thought.

Anyway, you might try asking your question here:

though you probably already thought of that.

I heard on here a while back not to break any traffic laws on bike. The fines are hefty.
