Handlebar speaker

Hey there, I remember seeing a reasonably priced handlebar speaker in, I think, the latest Urban Velo or Bicycle Times. It was $35 to $40 and small and rounded-looking. Anyone remember seeing this? I'd leaf through my mags, but they're all packed for an upcoming move. Thanks!

Hah, that was it. I didn't remember the toy-ey aspect of it. Maybe I can spraypaint it black to make it safe for public use. I've heard good things about it, so it might be worth a try.

They make a black one, along with some of the other neon colors.

I have been using these for about 2 years now.

And since I bought them I know of at least 4 others that have gotten them. They work great and are loud enough to hear as long as your not in heavy traffic. I found a few sets at best buy in the past but they seem to be out and might not be restocking them. The makers website has them but shipping is almost as much the speaker. I want to get a second pair and the best deal I have found is searching ebay and paying about 11 bucks with free shipping.

Boombotix BB2 FTW. :) But yeah, you kinda have to like the toony aspect of it.

I've been using the HMDX as well and have to agree they work real well and are loud enough that other riders close by can hear them. Battery lifetime is good. A pair of AAs seem to last at least 4 hrs.
