Jail Trail?

What are my odds of taking the T to the Jail Trail and riding from there to the Cathedral?

Thanks.

As much as I'm in favor of the jail trail being plowed, if it was plowed and like... the rest of the city still hasn't been something is amiss.

I'd be more concerned about Junction Hollow. That could be epic.

Yeah, all reports are that it's maybe passable at best. No word on Junction Hollow.

On Sunday, I went up through the hollow rather than ride up Greenfield. There was a singletrack pedestrian path where people had walked- I either carried my Rockhopper or pushed it in front of me. Not ridable, and with a tree down at the Panther Hollow end, may not be for a while.

They tried to plow the Eliza Furnace Trail sometime on Saturday afternoon but didn't get very far because there are trees and branches down all along the trail.

Between the Swinburne Street parking lot (which is still completely snowcovered) and Bates Street there is a 2-foot wide track through the snow and around the fallen trees made by people walking. A lot of people using the route to get across the Hot Metal Bridge. From Bates Street to the end of the Second Avenue Lot, there is single track that's not so well trafficked. The end of the Second Ave lot is piled 20 feet deep.

I've got a chainsaw, and a set of studs for my Xtracycle. If I was still using this trail to commute, I'd take care of that tree.

I'm going a bit stir cray as it is, maybe if it is still there on the weekend....

Oh, no doubt, it will still be there. I don't expect crews to get out to cut the trees until the snow is gone. And, since they can't plow, it could be quite some time for the snow to melt on its own.

But, that's just my opinion. Public Works could surprise me. I was surprised that they made the attempt to plow over the weekend, they may just do so again.

I assume the Hot Metal Bridge is still a mess, too.

It had the 2 foot wide track through the deep snow. Don't know what it's like after this latest snow but I suspect the traffic will pack it down fairly quickly.

Eric, if you decide to play lumberjack this weekend, let me know. I'll swing down and help if schedule permits.

Count me in for helping out with the tree as well.

Ha! That would be funnier if it wasn't from someone in some p.o.s. gated Cali golf "community" dumping on an actual awesome city (Vancouver).

There are a bunch of trees down in Frick park, blocking the trails. Three on Falls Ravine trail, one right where the trail from the cemetery joins the trail from the bowling greens, another farther down somewhere nearer the fenced-in dog area.
