Looking for Bicycle Injury Attorney in MD

Hi all, Happy New Year.  I don't post here often but I am a longtime lurker/BikePGH member.  I live in the Pittsburgh area but I am searching for a lawyer in the Baltimore area who specializes in representing injured cyclists.  I am asking on behalf of a loved one who was starting off the year right by riding their bike this morning, but was struck by a motorist and ended up in the hospital (they have significant injuries, but nothing life-threatening, fortunately). I have checked out League of American Bicyclists' website as well as the directory of their partner site Bikelaw.com, and found one lawyer in DC who apparently practices in Maryland, but their website seems defunct.  I've tried searching Baltimore- and Maryland-based cycling advocacy groups for resources and can't find much.  But since I know that there is a tight-knit, well-connected, resourceful group of cyclists on this message board, I figured I would ask here in hopes that someone has a Maryland connection, or at least an idea of where else to continue my search :-) Thanks, Dave

Does your friend live in Pittsburgh??Even though this accident happened in Md.,I'm sure a Pittsburgh attorney would be able to take on  your friends accident case. It doesn't have to be an attorney from the Baltimore area, even though that's where the accident occurred. Also there's probably a lot more of a  selection of accident attorneys in the Baltimore/Washington area  than Pittsburgh. Most attorneys that take on car accident injury cases  now take on bicycle accidents. If you go on the internet and google in accident injury attorneys,  probably hundreds of selections will show from the Baltimore area.

Dave- I think you may be a bit disappointed with a lack of response here.  It appears not many people peruse this forum very much.  I hope any lurkers prove me wrong. That being said, if you don’t get any ideas, maybe try calling some bike shops or clubs in the area to see if they can help.  For some reason, this place popped up as a link when searching for legal info: https://www.baltimorebicycleworks.com/ Good luck!

@cycleguy - No, the cyclist in this incident lives in the Baltimore area.  I actually grew up in that area but I have been gone for decades, so I don't have many cycling community connections there anymore.  But because I am close to this person, I am trying to help line up legal help so they don't have to worry about that part of things and can focus on recovery.  I am gathering that contacting a Pittsburgh attorney who specializes in this sort of thing might still be an option, but my first choice would be to find a Baltimore (or DC) area based attorney who may be more familiar with the local laws and systems.   I was also hoping to find someone with specific experience regarding bicycle-involved collisions, but I'm starting to think that in lieu of that, any good personal injury attorney might be sufficient. @Dave - No worries here, I guess there may have been more activity on the forum a few years ago when I was checking it more frequently but I'm not too disappointed.  I have heard good things of Baltimore Bicycle Works but never thought about them as a potential resource - thank you for mentioning that, as well as the idea of contacting local clubs.  I may try reaching out to some of them. Thanks to both of you for the responses, I appreciate it.

I know very little about Baltimore, but googling "cycling baltimore twitter" suggests that @bikemorebmore might be a good twitter handle to try sending your questions to. Do that google and you'll find others.

@paulheckbert - Thanks for that tip.  Through a friend, I was given contact information for someone at BikeMore, so they are definitely a good resource. Also, since my last post, the cyclist who was hit and injured found an attorney through the Bike Law network - Peter Wilborn - so I think they are well taken care of now.  Thanks again to those who replied with suggestions. Here is that website for anyone else who may be looking for an attorney experienced in bicycle/traffic injury cases:  https://www.bikelaw.com/   Great resource.
