Hi guys! The MTCC is offering a fun ride that goes through OH, WV, and PA on August 19th for Bike Fest.

Meet at the Golden triangle Bike rental shop (600 First St) at 6:30am for registration, the ride begins at 7:00am.

The route will be marked & cue sheets are available.

This is a self supported tour bring extra tubes and money for food along the way.

Bruce asked me to pass this info along. I think Reddan is helping with this ride along with several others (me too). Hope to see you all there.

There are rumors of a potential World's Biggest Teapot photo-op...

You have to be a special person to use the words "fun ride" and "that goes through OH, WV, and PA" in the same sentence.

Unless maybe it starts in East Liverpool Ohio.

I am not a fan of hills - this ride is not grueling at all, honestly.

Oh yeah, WORLD'S LARGEST TEA POT!!!!

Okay, I think I'm gonna do this. Especially if the weather is going to be anything like it was today.

This'll be fun. It's pretty flat for the second half (as it follows the Ohio all the way back to town), and the climbs on the first half, although nothing at which to sneer, tend more toward the "long steady slog" than "wall of pain" stereotypes.

That was awesome! Great weather. Well marked course (thanks Mikhail and Bruce). Huge turn out. Yay :)

Great ride! We hung around after we finished and I believe everyone who started the ride finished (Dan you didnt start:P). Bruce said 50 riders, plus another 15 that started in Coraopolis.

I sorta started. Replaced the pads and the busted spring clip (h-spring? Is that what the pad retention clip is called on Avid BB7s?), got the pads adjusted well enough to call it safe, and was on West Carson no more than 5 minutes behind yinz. Then the lower digestive tract rebelled, and I spent some happy time moving from port-a-john to port-a-john.

Bah, sez I.

Sorry to hear that. I had that all day on CtC. Miserable. I worry about that the most on long rides when I am unsure where the next bathroom is

Sorry I was just too exhausted. I got up this morning at 5am and was so tired that I was dizzy. Went back to bed. Sounds like a great day for it. Where is that giant teacup photo?

I should have stopped but I was so busy looking for it that I had fallen off the back (I was riding with Bruce) and I didn't want to stop. I saw it though.

My husband just said "it wouldn't be hard to make a bigger one." Game on Chester, WV.

I just think we should have the largest teabag(ging) instead.

We need to do the whatever ride it was where we saw the world's largest perpetual motion machine that was just tire swings with yoga balls shoved in them. I am still kicking myself for not stopping at that.

@sarah_q: That was on 519, between Hickory and Canonsburg, IIRC...when we did the Steubenville Pike->Rte 18->519-Mingo->Mon River century.
