no bicycles allowed at the waterworks?

Stopped at the giant eagle in the waterworks and just noticed that there are signs saying "no bicycles, no skateboards..", etc. Has on a bike ever had anyone say anything to them while riding through/shopping there?

I was on a long ride in June 2009 and rode through the area. I found some makeshift locking spot and got a banana at the Giant Eagle. Nobody said anything to me that time.

been there a bunch of times on bike. i've even locked my bike to a "no bicycles" sign. i think they perhaps meant it to apply to the sidewalk or some specific area?

there are similar signs in Oakmont, but they are geared towards... non-transportation uses on sidewalks. They're in Verona for bicycles as well, but I test road many, many bicycles through there and never heard a peep.

I suspect if you start mowing down little old ladies and soccer moms on your BMX while defying gravity, the sign will be expanded to include you. If you move through the area with traffic and obey all posted signs, politely taking turns with pedestrians and cars, the sign will be limited to exclude you.

that is what i figured, but just checking.

I always make a point of tying up to a "no bicycles" sign, if available.

So far, nobody has ever said anything to me, but if anyone does, I am prepared to repeat what ejwme said.

I used to lock up my bike to the light post in front of target every weekend like two summers ago; also never had any problem

All of those signs just basically force teenagers to use drugs to stem the tide of boredom
