Derby, from back when I posted her on cute overload.
nothing to do with bikes: PETS
i haven't seen this topic come up here (although i've only been here a few short months).
we have 4 cats and 2 dogs. only the dogs are interesting enough to post pictures:
this is munson. he's about 11 months now (probably 8 months old in this one) and is somewhere around 100lbs. we were told that he is a boxer-pit mix, but i think shepherd/lab boxer mix is more likely.
this is rufus. he is a 2 1/2 year old boxer-pit mix. He is very hyper but is very expressive and energetic.
how adorable.
anyone have trail dogs that run in the woods behind them?
I used to take my dogs to Frick on a regular basis. It's been really muddy this year so we haven't been out but once or twice. It's good fun though, for sure.
We have 4 dogs (+3 cats), although it's fairly impossible to get them all in the same picture.
Action shot:
Trying to look cute:
I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of them tunneling through the snow, that was comical.
Just to make it somewhat bike-related, my new office is going to be dog-friendly so I need to figure out how to transport the dogs (probably one at a time). I have a kiddie trailer I'm planning to strap them into although I haven't ridden with it on the road yet.
@ salty - your pets are adorable as well!
i think munson would do well in a dog trailer, but not rufus. if only they would allow trailers on the ms...
Two cats in the house.
Ok, the bird contingent is checking in. Two parrots currently. I refuse to learn how to post photos here, out of consideration for the rest of you. But, neither would win any beauty contests against the competition already on the board.
just got a kiddy trailer last week so I can transport him. We haven't tried it out yet, he's still getting used to the idea.
Not sure if this will work, but here's a link to some pictures of me and Cody's bike tour around northwest Montana: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2100017&id=35100526
Good times in Eureka, dude. Code-man loves it. I'm suspect. Dragging a 55-pound dog and gear, yikes ...
Also:
You'll see us around for the next two months. Dig it, man ...
Also, love this photo:
@JCME That's a cool dog!!!! And cool photos too!
I've got two cats who refuse to sit nicely for the camera, so we've got a bunch of horrid pictures where you can't tell, but they're doing funny things. One 4 lb (tiny runty) 2 yr old long hair grey and white calico who loves and fears everybody, one 12 lb (loud whiny) 15 yr old siamese who hates and needs everybody. Neither have been for a ride yet, though the siamese would like it. Maybe that'll be this weekend's project - take a cat for a ride.
O.k., so who's setting up the Bikefest Pet Ride?
We have a dog and a bunny in the house. The dog's name is Mira, shes almost 2 and I think shes a German Shepherd/Lab/Pit/whatever mix.
Heres a shot to show her super neat tiger stripes.
Here she is wearing her old lady costume.
The bunny's name is Bacon and she's a hellraiser. Here she is in disguise and eating some paper.
Hemi and Cuda. Hemi is Australian cattle dog mix and Cuda is a Brittany. Very much a Ying / Yang pair. Hemi is hyper and very much an in your face dog and Cuda is a chill and gentle girly girl. It balances out I guess.
Thinking "STRAY" alleycat for the Humane Society? Working out the details for during Bikefest!
Food, beer and pets..It all works so beautifully!
If anyone has a particularly talented pet and would like to help out the humane society via an alleycat style ride contact me @ sherryl_feli@hotmail.com
We have a pug, Penelope and are trying to adopt a rescue at the moment. We have a bike trailer that she travels to the park in.
Here's my cat:
She just loves me so much!
erok, your cat looks just like one we used to have (except ours, 'Patch', had only one eye).
Here's Edgar, our neurologically challenged hairball.
^^^^ Pimpin' ain't easy.
Glad to see I am not the only cat lover.
RickyTickyTacm, What's it like having a rabbit as a pet? I always wondered.
Well, they dont really behave at all the way a normal pet like a cat or dog does, they are a lot more wild. Bacon loves to burrow in things and eat everything. Not just chew it but eat it. She isn't very affectionate either, on occasion she will come up and beg you to pet her, but generally she just wants to eat and do her thing.
I love seeing everyone's pets!
Like some of you have already done, Rick and I would like to get a trailer for our dog Mira. It would be fun to take her with us while bicycling!
You already saw these pets, but I wanted to share these photos too.
This photo was taken the Sunday we returned from the MS 150. We're wearing our Big Hop jerseys:
This photo is from today. I gave Bacon a bath and while I was waiting for the photo to take Mira jumped up to lick Bacon.
oh man. I love animals so much. I want a dog, but I'm a cat lover at heart.
My babies:
Big Kitty (because I rock at naming pets)

my kitties are really good at getting mice:
Every day, I come home, and put my keys, iPod, and the mail on this shelf.
Today, I came home to about a month's worth of mail on the ground due to Stupid Mrs. Steve.
She was rolling around in it -.-
Our crazy mutt, Jenna Jamison, 13-pounds of fury. Yes we run in Frick Park, but always on a leash. She can run up to 20 miles with me.
She's so cute.

This is Charlie Friday.
We have three dogs: Sassy (German Shepherd), Agnus (German Shorthaired Pointer), and Vinnie (Beagle). Aggi was rescued from some idiots who bought a cute spotted puppy at the pet store at the mall. Vinnie was found as a stray last summer.
I hope I post this right.
We also have one guinea pig (Chester), a betta fish (Cheeze), and a 40-gallon freshwater aquarium.
Here's Decibel, my bros cat
Wow! Don't want to meet Decibel in a dark alley!
Oh, shes very nice, just happened to yawn when I snapped the shutter on that picture, here she is normally,
today was flea bath day.
it took me and my roommate to hold down the white cat, while a 3rd person shampooed and rinsed him:
The grey one, Steve, was much more chill with the whole experience. Not surprising, she usually tries to shower with me.
there is nothing more pathetic (and cute in a scraggly way) than a wet cat!
when I was little, I had a cat that used to tear down the upstairs hall so fast that he'd have to jump onto the toilet and into the tub to avoid crashing (bathroom was at one end of the hall, he did crash once and almost knocked himself out).
He did that for the last time once when I was having my bath (door was open). I was just as surprised to be bathing with a cat as he was to be chest high in water. We stared at each other for a beat or two before we both howled, and he ran out, and spent two hours under the bed, grooming and howling.
the little one, Steve, got her vaccinations today...she's now moving really slow, and barely knows what's going on. It's cute in a sad kind of way.
...and oh, the SOUND of a cat getting a bath. You can almost humanize the sounds coming out as "oh torture, oh you mean things you, how could you DO this to me, I waaaant to get ouuuut of here!! Pleeease let me ouuuuut of here! Noooo, not more suuuds! Let me gooooo!"
Steve just meowed a lot, Big kitty was silent though, and he was absolutely petrified. luckily, we made it out unscratched.
our littlest one, the one nicknamed Fruit Loop or Runt (she's none too bright, even for a cat), purrs the whole time. Long hair and stupid - bath's almost done before she realizes she's wet. She likes being towel dried ("feels like petting!") so much it's hard to get her to groom herself afterwards.
I've heard that showers with doors are the best places to try and bathe a cat, they can't escape. But neither can the owners.
yeah, Steve likes to sit on the edge of the tub and meow at me when I shower. She thinks that I hate water, too, ans so she worries about me when I'm in there.
I can play at this:
This is Zeus, I picked him up from the shelter almost a year ago, he is about 4.
Daisy Maitri McPea

IMO - Best Dog Name EVER
I've decided that I need a corgi. I don't have time for a dog, but I wish I did
Don't get me wrong, I'm forever a cat lady, but
WAIT i also need pugs.
I cannot seem to tear myself away from this board lately. Love these pictures--everyone's critters are so cute. Corgis are just improbable/adorable (improbadorable?). Anyyway, here are some more (if I can manage to post them):
Jeeves:
Emma:
Charley:
Matey:
ACK! little orange tie! so cute.
(be careful joanne, this board is as addicting as it seems - at times more so!)
@ejwme, I'm starting to realize that...I don't think I've been over to fb for four days. I'm trying to hold back a little since I'm a noob! Bike Pgh boards, where have you been all my life?
is matey a bullmastiff? want...
One of the new kittehs:
Please forgive photo quality...smartphone had dried ick on the lens.
this cat almost followed me home yesterday:
My two girls, Cricket and Pris...
Cricket looks like Big Kitty
Ok, here are my two:
The smaller of the two HATES bikes. He hates anything that moves in a way that he does not understand. So bicycles, strollers, people carrying ladders and all sorts of other "normal" behavior elict loud squawks of alarm from an otherwise pretty mellow bird.
@cburch, we think Matey is half English Mastiff and half Dane...and can confirm that he is all slobber.
We found him starving in Highland Park (poor baby), so if you want one, apparently that's where they grow them.
LOVE the beauteous kitty pictures and the gorgeous BIRDS!
Holy crap. That's like my dream mutt. Stef would prefer a dash of wolfhound too.
Ohhh, a wolfhound beard on a mastiff/dane would be so cute. And hilarious. Lots of interesting mutts pop up here:

Meanwhile, Matey looks a lot like your Munson from the first page--love those brindles. Edited: strike that--he looks like your Rufus!
I giggled.
David Catsellhoff?
HA!!!!!
(no, technically its Lilly. But maybe it should be Davina Catsellhoff.)
here's a grown-up version of Derby from the first page.
She's super mean, but in a hilarious and adorable way.
If cats looked like frogs we'd realize what nasty, cruel little bastards they are.

I currently live with three of the vicious little buggers.
