overcrowded bike racks

What places in the city could use more bike racks?

The racks infront of the carnegie library (oakland) are very popular. I think they could use another rack.

Borders on center has a few of the circle sytle racks (the ones that are all over they place) they always seem full when the weather is nice.

the library could def use more racks. they also need to bolt the ones they have down.

southside works needs some near the theater. in the summer there are bikes locked to park the benches and the fence of that irish place.

the racks by whole foods should be moved into the car parking area so that more tables can be located outside, and more bikes locked up.

the east end food coop needs a couple more, but they shouldn't be in front of the store...maybe across the street or something. The ones past the parking lot are cool.

D's Six Pack and Dogs needs to work something out with Typhoon or whatever that lighting store is and provide some racks there. Once there are a few bikes locked up along Braddock they start taking over the sidewalk.

I love the racks but they really need to be placed in areas that do not take over the public walking space. I think some of the spots that have been chosen, haven't been thought out very well.

I second erok about the SqHillLib, and tie it in with pratt's final sentence. Aside from there not being enough space there, I must have clunked my helmet on that overhang four times trying to stow and retrieve my bike on the building side of that rack.

A dedicated parking space inside the garage under the Lib would be well worth the cost.

south side giant eagle needs one bad. there's always bikes locked to a railing. i talked to a "manager" once and he said basically, "not my decision, it's on the owner of the property." i was like, "uh, can you ask him?" he told me to call the owner myself. what a jag. i'm sure they had to ask the owner to put out their stupid red box or soda machines.
