PAT opens website for PLANNING comments

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Port Authority is inviting citizens to share their ideas for the future of public transit as a national panel convenes here to offer its own recommendations. The authority has created what it calls a “community engagement website,” Forward Thinking, at http://paac.mindmixer.com. The site presents questions on topics including capital projects, barriers to transit use and accessibility for seniors and riders with disabilities. Participants can share their thoughts or weigh in on ideas submitted by others. Note that you have to register and provide an email address. So far they've sent me a participation update and an update on two of the questions I responded to. These have status changed to "in progress"; I think that means that PAT will be acting on the suggestions. Amazing power that I have... or maybe it's not just me. (For the curious: open API for bus info; smartphone app to locate bus by GPS.) Note that this is a limited time offer, open to the end of the month.
