Project Ideas
So I have some frames laying around and I am thinking about making some kind of utility bike.
These are the idea I have:
Flat bed- 2'x3' bed in front of rider behind front wheel. The bed would be low to the ground to low the enter of gravity and provide a more "bike" like ride.
Snow plow bike- I got this idea from someone talking about the Hot Metal Street Bridge. I am thinking a divider type plow (one on each side of the bike). A lever will raise and lower the plow. Because of width and balance concerns this wouldn't have much more utility than bike paths and narrow sidewalks.
Other thoughts:
Tall bike?
What do you guys think? What would you like to see? Thee is a good chance i will be selling it after I build it, so maybe something you want, but can't build.
The goal is a finished project, not just completed, but something that is "finished" looking.

For the snow plow, you may wish to look into Atomic Zombie's Hammerhead MTB-to-snow-trike conversion...should work pretty well for a chassis, and ya could even tow a salt-spreader trailer behind without much difficulty.

but really, i rode from sf to santa cruz with a guy who made a cargo bike with the load on the front. he really liked. he's an amazing frame builder from santa cruz.

You should integrate a salt-spreader on the back of the snow plow bike.

I think it makes more sense to tow a salt spreader behind the bike. so the bikes at work trailer could be better.

I have a spreader you can have. You will of course require some way to operate the squeezy handle remotely, so as to turn the spreader on/off at will.

Ok, so I have a car in my garage that i ened to put a transmission in. Hopefully i will get that done this weekend and start on this plow. I am pretty excited about it.
I am not sure what I am going to do wit this or where I am going to keep it, but I'll deal with those details later...
And Stu, I will take you up on the spreader.
