Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for people to try bicycle commuting into town. Exit at Beaver Avenue, circle back to park in the Park & Ride under PA65, hop on a bike, and roll into Downtown past the casino on the river trail.
Anyone know if access to 279N and 28 will still be available? it says all lanes approaching the bridge, but im wondering about the 3rd, far left lane.
WOW! That is one bear of a detour. It's going to add 30 minutes to the morning commute for folks on Route 65, I bet.
I presume the Port Authority will design and use an alternate detour for themselves, but everything will be a mess. Definitely a good week to be on a bike, and not on PAT, or in a car.

Not untypically, it doesn't say much. No changes that affect riders in terms of stops, but also nothing in terms of impact beyond "Extensive traffic delays are expected."
They're just not set up to be able to bootstrap themselves some business. I know from experience that the 18 (formerly 16D) runs right past there, and the 14 (formerly 16A) and 500 are a hike up the steps to California at Marshall. But the main thing is, most people don't even know the P&R lot is there.
Nevertheless, this is a perfect example of lack of information leading to continued dependence on cars and continued traffic congestion.
Not sure I agree with your last point - most people I run into who won't ride the bus (or a bike for that matter) are too in love with their cars to consider anything else. I think if you sent a personal guide to show someone exactly what to do, they'd probably still drive.
