Rant about drivers

so i was riding on that road that runs by the AAA building in east lib towards baum. i got to the 4 way stop, stopped completely and proceeded as there were no cars there. i was most of the way through a left turn when a car come fying through the intersection from the opposite side of baum forcing me to either get hit or move into on coming traffic. and if this wasnt enough, after the four pieces of trash in their crappy cadillac passed me they slow down the driver looked me in the eye and said "F*ck you." I was so angry I called them an a-hole and then they sped up and tried to hit me. Luckily by this time i was near the end of frindship ave where it is blocked by a curb and i was able to just hop up and onto friendship.

it was such a nice day, and i really dont know why there was all the hostility. they ran the stop sign and they shouted first. so watch out for trash driving trash.

Spring is in the air. For some people that means being upset at anything and everything. For others it means enjoying life.

Glad you came out OK.

I wonder if this driver is the same guy who would yell at you for running stop signs on your bike.

I had two less-then-three-feet passes by motorcycles today. Weird, since I see all these "watch out for motorcycles" signs every spring - I guess my ride doesnt have enough chrome...

I do find it amusing when motorcycles act like that or when someone with a "watch out for motorcycles" bumper sticker does it.

I had a guy on a motorcycle on Carson Street rev-up behind me all threatening-like. He rolled up to me when we were stopped - because it was Carson Street, after all, and he tells me "You're gonna get killed on that thing." I asked him if he was going to kill me, but he didn't seem to know how to respond to that. Its always something.

Yeah, because you're clearly more likely to get killed on a pedal bike than a motorcycle... *sarcasm*

I had a guy on a motorcycle challenge me to a race the other day. I accepted. He won. But next time...

I bet those motorcyclists aren't licensed. Most of the ignorant/arrogant motorcyclists I know are either just permitted, or don't have anything.

Today, I had tech issues with my iPod, then I broke a spoke, and then when I had it fixed, another one broke. So on my way home just now, I was simply Not. In. The. Mood. Then this wend down.

I was headed downhill on Shady Avenue from Squirrel Hill. Going 20+ mph, in a 25 mp zone. Some jagbag in a white (Lexus?) SUV lays on the horn behind me, and I turn to see him right by another cyclist (whom I hadn't seen) riding behind me. The SUV crosses the yellow line and passes me, and...

Do I even need to say what happened next? You surely know already that I caught up to him, this time as he was trying to turn left into the apartment complex by Fifth Avenue. I briefly explained to him that if they are going to go slow and block traffic (he was blocking the whole right lane waiting to turn) that cars do not belong on the road. I commiserated and let my rage at that jag-hat loose with other cyclist when he arrived at the red light with me.

Then, another SUV pulled left out of Stratton Lane onto Walnut Street without yielding to me. Ugh.

Then, as I was cruising on Ellsworth Avenue, again at 20+ mph, I saw a BMW pull up beside me on my left with a right turn signal. "This f'er's going to right hook me up at Amberson," I thought to myself. Ta-da, I was right again! I braked to avoid this reckless driver, and the car behind me honked.

Times like these I need to get out my Bike Pgh membership card and remind myself that "I'm on my bike, having waaaaaay more fun than they are."
