Repairing A Punctured Tire (Not Innertube)

I have two $40 Panaracer T-Servs and now both are out of commission because they both have holes in the treads that let the innertubes come out through them. Is there anyway I can patch them because they still have a lot of miles on them, if I can keep the innertube in them.

Anybody had any luck with this kind of repair?

Sounds like you need a layer of something between tire and tube. Duct tape? Fiberglass screening? (sorry, I have no actual experience, but these things might work)

You could use:

Duct tape (folded over on itself)

Powerbar wrapper

$100 bill

I used a $1 bill to get home Friday and was surprised how chewed up it was after less than an hour. They've changed whatever they were printing money on.

USPS Priority Tyvex bag would also work really well, as do Clif Bar wrappers.

Excellent, I basically live off Cliff Builder Bars, so I think I'll try that with some duck tape.

I've use tarp tape (like duct tape, but a bit thicker), and Park boots. Both worked.

Sew it closed with dental floss. Really.

^sew it^

i've also had luck with using a tube patch on the inside of the tire. but i guess it depends on how large the hole is

You could also probably use a hunk of old tire.

I've never tried it before but I'm wondering if something like "Shoe Goo" would also work, possibly by itself or in conjunction with a piece of rubber like the strips that come with lights or other gadgets or even a piece of old inner tube.

when i've used hunks of old tire, they've eventually worn a hole into my tube. also, on the higher pressure, thinner tires, you may feel the bump

duct tape, piece of an inner tube box, and some more duct tape has lasted me years and doesn't seem to impact the tube

I never thought about sewing it, but that sounds like a great idea.
