Schwinn at Goodwill!

I stopped at the Goodwill on McKnight Rd last night and they have a very nice lady’s Shwinn Continental II for sale. They wanted $55 for it. I thought it was expensive for a thrift store item, but I guess it’s collectable. It’s a very clean Cobalt Blue step thru frame, maybe 54CM, probably from the early 70’s, made in Chicago tags, and looked like it was recently serviced with new tires and brake pads. The only thing I could see that it needed is the hockey tape on the handlebars removed and properly re-taped.

I took a few pictures with my phone but I have not had the time to figure out how to post pictures from my phone on to this internet machine thingy yet…but if your interested PM me your email address I can send them to you directly.

Did you buy it, or is it still there?

Sounds like a pretty sweet find for someone looking for a cheap bike.

I did not buy it. It’s most likely still for sale.

If it were a men’s bike and 61CM it might have fit me…

That sounds like about $40 too much for that bike.

Yea that’s what I thought. If it were $20 or $30 maybe.

I was at the McKnight Goodwill about a week ago, and saw that and three or four other bikes, all going for $50-60ish. I think the one you described was there then.

Another place to check is a little thrift store on Babcock just below Siebert. I picked up a U.S.-made Huffy 3-speed there for $20 a couple years ago. The sticker said $30 but I was able to talk them down. Maybe GW would do the same if you asked.

I once saw a felt mountain bike at a thrift store for $55. It was really nice but, I just missed it. The guy was already in line with it when I first saw it. I told him he got a great deal.
