SE Draft (Gray/Black, Red grips and seat) Stolen from Shadyside

My SE Draft was stolen from inside my apartment building in Shadyside on Summerlea St. (someone forgot to make sure the front door was locked). Here is a picture of the bike, it is the exact same colors, model - https://dl.dropbox.com/u/676624/sedraft-stolen.jpg

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the picture. I'll be looking out for it.

Thanks, I forgot to note that my cranks are not stock as shown in the picture... Not positive on what they are..

That should be easy to spot. Hopefully the theif is dumb enough to ride it.

Apparently he is dumb enough to ride it, also without removing the black Artisan Tattoo sticker that I put on it. My friend posted this on my Facebook profile:

"I saw some kid on your bike this morning. I was walking into work and waiting to cross fort pitt blvd just after the smithfield bridge, he came across the bridge turned left onto fort pitt. He slowed down when I yelled at him then took off. I saw him turn right onto stanwick but by the time I got down there I didn't see him or the bike. I walked a few blocks to see if he locked it up somewhere but nothing. Dude had dark hair and was wearing a white t shirt and brown jeans."

I am in that area often. I will look out for it.

I also frequent the area and will be on the look out.

I think I just saw this bike locked up next to 218 Taylor Street in Bloomfield (the section of the street between Dreaming Ant/Crazy Mocha and Friendship Ave). I didn't check for a sticker, but it's def. an SE Draft with red grips. GO GO GO!!!!!

SWARM! SWARM!!

I know a guy that rides the same bike. Though, he may have drops? If you see a guy with an orange Chrome bag on this bike, it is not the stolen one.

I have had my eyes open in the area. I am out often. Please post if this ride gets recovered.

Thanks for looking out everyone, there is a chance that the bike spotted by dreaming ant isn't mine, my friend told me he knows someone that lives around that area that has one.

I'm going to call Thick bikes tomorrow and find the make of my cranks and also the size of the frame.

If you keep your bike in the common area of an apartment building, I'd still find something inside to lock your bike to in the future. Too risky to trust neighbors with the safety of a nice bike.

2012-08-27 15:20:07

Very true Michael, I made the mistake of thinking it would be safe in the common area. There isn't anything to lock a bike to, however I could've -and- should've at least free-locked it so the jerk couldn't just ride off with it...

Anyway, here is some more information on the bike:

- Origin 8 track crank set

- Frame size is 49 (yeah, I'm short)

I also have the serial number...

Might want to email/PM him, it doesn't seem like he's a regular on this forum.

Thanks! I sent them a message, hoping it's mine - I need a ride to work! Walking sucks!

I don't know if you got your bike back, but i saw someone riding that model/color/size bike yesterday evening on N. Lexington in Point Breeze.

Thanks Ben, I still haven't found it but I'll keep a lookout next time I'm in that area. I might be in the market for a new bike soon.
