Sports superstar rides bike to work

This was apparently all over the mainstream sports media. LeBron James dealt with traffic from the Miami marathon by biking to a game against the Chicago Bulls. So how we gonna get a Stiller out there?

I'll wager no one yelled at him to get offa tha road.

He won't be winning any cycling championships either.

Oh, thanks for the heads up. I thought I had heard something about this, but I didn't think much of it at the time (I don't watch ESPN). It's funny the media made a big deal about LaBron biking a few miles, I bike to work all the time and it's no big deal, it's better than driving that's for sure.

It might be headline worthy if the story was "Star player bikes to game in 10 minutes, while 40,000 fans in cars spend hours apiece."

...as opposed to "athlete does athletic thing on way to work."

I think his name is Nick Eason, no longer a Steeler, but was at that point. Nick ended up talking to him for awhile at the bbq before he had any idea he was a pro football player.

I made small talk with him a half of dozen times. He probably thought I was talking to him because he was a Steeler, but I was talking to him because we were both super slow on the first day. I just though he was some poor guy who had a friend or family member talk him into riding it.

About 30 miles into the first day I was riding by him and a SAG wagon pulled up and asked if we were ok. We both said we were and then I asked how many people were behind up. The SAG driver responded, "three."

In line for food he kept saying things about football practice and I thought he was just some guy stuck thinking about his high school days or something. I didn't realize he was a pro football player until someone asked for his autograph.

i usually don't give a crap about celebrities riding, but his after game response was classic.

"Did you have fun riding your bike to the game?" a reporter asked.

"Fun? I mean, I do that.. I do it all the time."

from nba's biggest superstar.

And in Miami of all places, where if you don't drive an expensive car you are a nobody.
