2 questions:
I don't have a smart phone, can I just use the website?
Can you also report good, courteous drivers?
spotmouth launches bad drivers reporting app
Hi,
I am a fellow Pittsburgher, and long-time bike commuter. I just launched a website called spotmouth that allows users to search for license plates and report good or bad driving habits.
Searches can be done by geography, model, plate (partial matches), color. I got the thought for doing this application when seeing bad driving and wanting to vent my frustration. What would be really cool is if we could see patterns of bad driving towards cyclists with certain individuals. Alerts can be set on each plate, so if you have a car, you can be notified if anyone posts information on your plate.
Here's a link to any drivers reported thus far: http://www.spotmouth.com/#drivers
If you have any comments, feel free to send me an email.
Thanks,
Phillip
Is there any legal way that insurance
companies can look at these? It seems like
an insurance co would not want to insure
somebody who is a major liability. It would
be really neat to see people held accountable
No need for a smart phone, but you can use one if you want to.
Yes, you can also report good drivers. In fact, there is a contest for best drivers. http://www.spotmouth.com/#contest-average-votes/2
nice! I always find myself forgetting that for every jerk out there, there's at least one calm, courteous driver. This is a good way to remind myself.
Phil!
Did you ever start the pottery side business?
