Squirrel Hill to Harmar

Hey, I have been reading these boards for a while, but this is my first time posting. I have lived in the area for a while now, however I just moved to Squirrel Hill and am not sure what the best route would be for a commute. I work off of Freeport Rd in Harmar (close to the intersection of Freeport Rd and Guys Run Rd). The shortest path would be Washington Blvd to the Highland Park bridge to Freeport Road, but Washington Blvd makes me a little nervous since it doesn't have a shoulder. Is there a better way to meet up with Freeport Road? Or does anyone know a good route along Allegheny River Blvd?

Any help is appreciated!

Lincoln Ave to Nadine (make a left), Nadine is a steep downhill to ARB, make a right on ARB to the Hulton Bridge, cross the bridge and make a right onto Freeport and Guys Run Road is like half a mile down

You could avoid Washington by going out Negley and down past the Zoo. Longer, but mellower

(I guess this means my vote for "worst street in the city" doesn't include Negley.)
