Stolen Bike - Marin Larkspur

Hi everyone, I am new here but my bike was stolen last night and several people suggested that I post here. It was stolen yesterday, probably between 5:00 pm and 8:45 pm. It was on a bike rack on the North Shore, right next to the end of the Clemente Bridge and the First National Bank office, across the street from PNC Park's outfield gate. It was a polished aluminum Marin Larkspur, 10-15 years old, with "Marin" in big blue letters. 24 speed, regular hybrid-style, diamond frame. Some distinguishing features: mismatched wheels. the front wheel is factory standard and has a silver rim, and the back wheel is brand new and has black rim. Also, there is a rear light on the seat post but the red plastic cover is missing, so it is just exposed LEDs. I filed a police report last night and noticed today that First National Bank has a camera right there, so I will try to talk to someone there today to see if it is possible to get footage. I also walked around the north side a bit this morning. I don't have any pictures of the actual bike but this picture is close. If you see anything or have any suggestions I appreciate your help.

Thanks for doing that. Just to specify the differences between the picture and my bike, my bike had a black seat, had all of the letters on the frame, and did not have a bell or a back rack. Also, as I said, the back wheel was replaced and has a black rim.

Sorry your bike was stolen. I live in the Northside and will keep a lookout for it. My bike was stolen from a PNC Park bike rack last year and I ended up recovering it along the North Shore Trail just past the Casino. If you can, check along the North Shore Trail back in some of the wooden areas where the docks are. I think it's common for these "opportunity thieves" to steal a bike, use it for a few days, and then ditch it in the nearby area. Now that I think of it, you might want to do a 1-2 mile sweep of the North Shore Trail in both directions, then check Point State Park. Good luck, Ben

Thanks for the advice. I have been walking around the North Side and Downtown a bit before and after work and I will try to sweep as much of the trail as I can in the coming days. I'm also hoping that with the Pirates back in town, the thief or whoever has the bike now will be stupid and venture around PNC Park. We'll see...
