Pics? What is the best way to contact you if it is found? It isn't uncommon for bikes posted on here to turn up.

Sorry I don't think I have a photo - but if the thief leaves it as is, its pretty recognizable (yellow, blue milk crate and Canadian flag hockey tape). Also quite a number of reflector stickers. If its still there, also a ref blinkie light on the back of the crate.

Mine. Behing my house.

That stinks, but its true sometimes bikes do turn back up. Can you give us a general sense of where on Sq Hill without posting your address (~closest big intersection)?

Also, does it resemble this guy's bike?

Anybody keeping loose stats on our return rate? I know we find a bunch, but is it as much as 50/50? I figure we've got enough number crunchers and bike thief chasers on here, someone ought to know that number.

Bummer! This news is disturbing as I always felt it was a relatively safe neighborhood. Was this in a closed or open garage, and were bike and/or garage locked? I keep a few unlocked bikes in my unlocked garage (most of them not ridable) but am questioning this now. I did lock bikes for the first time last night.

Close to Forbes & Beechwood intersection. The garage is behind the house so a rather risky /brazen snatch. Sheesh.

Oh, and yes, it looks somewhat like that yellow Cannondales in the link, same wide diameter tubingt - though it looks like that one may have shocks and mine does not. I also just recalled there is a Bike Pittsburh sticker on the milk crate.

@helen - I had some stuff stolen (air compressor, leaf blower, etc) from my open garage in Sq. Hill. I didn't really think it would be a problem until it happened, although I didn't keep my bikes out there. I decided to buy a garage door.

Yes, a sad lesson. I'm not sure my garage door *will* close. I need to schlepp the next bike into the house.
