Sorry for your loss. Please file a police report, even if you don't think you'll get your bike back. Will keep an eye out...
Stolen from in front of Union Project
I just had to learn the hard way about the importance of using a U lock instead of a cable lock. Someone used a bolt cutter in broad daylight to take a bike from one of the racks in front of the Union Project in Highland Park yesterday. The bike was a Mongoose and looked like this: http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1079104_-1___ if not the same model. It had a milk crate on the back bumper and some of those circular Bike Pittsburgh reflector stickers on it. It wasn't a terribly valuable bike and I'm not really expecting to see it again, but if anyone runs across an XL bike fitting this description, please send me a message.
Thanks.
Truly sucks. I had my own bike locked to the U.P. rack nearest Stanton just a week ago. *shudder*
If you know the serial number you can report it stolen. You will never see that bicycle again.
you might see it again, sometimes bikes are just dumped really nearby in the area! ill keep a lookout when i walk around, and try to let folks know. are you on the highland park listserv? i can post for you there if you want.
major bummer
Edward, your optimism is notable. We've actually seen people on this board reunited with their stolen bikes, a number of times.
It may be worth a stop in nearby bike shops to ask people there to be on the lookout. Back when Gatto was on the corner of Penn & Braddock, the people there reunited our neighbors with two stolen bikes.
also you dont need the serial number to make a report.
I live a couple blocks down the street. Will keep my eye out while walking the dog.
Aye, if you have another bike, might be worth patrolling the area
You might get lucky and see somebody riding it; that's how I got mine back
I will keep an eye out for it also. Sorry to hear about that. People are shitty.
