Stolen Trek 830 & Huffy

2 mountain bikes were stolen off my car's bike rack in Hazelwood on Friday, May 10th, 2013. One was my regular ride, a Trek 830 Antelope. It is black with the white-on-blue lettering. It has a metallic blue water bottle holder and a light grey saddle with bright orange plastic pieces visible from the rear underside. It has Kenda tires, cantilever brakes, Shimano Shifters (one with 3 settings, the other with 7), and handlebar ends that extend forward and sweep inward. The other is a black Huffy with distinctive light teal cable sheathing and white lettering. They were stolen from a gravel parking lot on Gloster St. (backstreet behind 2nd Av.) at the intersection w/Hazelwood Av., by the new bike trail and behind the Jozsa Corner Hungarian Restaurant between 7:30pm & 11:45pm. My name is Brian

Sorry to hear this. Make sure you report the thefts to the police if you havent already & keep an eye on craigslist too. You also may want to cruse some of the alleyways in the area too since it might have been kids who stole them and sometimes they just ditch them after awhile. Good luck

Were the bikes locked to the rack or the car?

The bikes were not locked, but attached to a Saris Bones car-mounted bike rack. Ironically, one bike was "wearing" a lock, it just wasn't securing the bike to anything. The bikes were attached with those bands that look like over-sized tie wraps. I actually did file a police report
